Mangaluru: PU examination - DC directs officials to make elaborate arrangements

Mangaluru, Feb 21: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, asked the officials to make all kinds of preparations in the district for successfully holding second PU examination. She noted that 34,346 students from Dakshina Kannada district will be appearing for this all important examination that decides future of the students.

She was addressing the participants of the preparatory meeting for second PU examination which was organized in the auditorium of the deputy commissioner's office here on Thursday February 20.

"There are 51 examination centres in the district including 24 in Mangaluru, four in Moodbidri, seven in Bantwal, nine in Puttur, four in Beltangady and three in Sullia. As many as 17,137 boys and 17,209 girls will be appearing for the examination. A total of 4,532 students will be appearing for arts, 16,237 for commerce, and 13,577 for science, she stated.

Assistant commissioner Madan Mohan, deputy director of PU education Vishnumurthy, deputy director of public instruction Malleswamy, officials of the departments and heads of colleges were present.
