Karkala, Feb 21: Rich tributes were offered to the Pulwama Martyrs on February 14 on the first anniversary of Pulwama attack in which 44 soldiers laid down their lives. This programme was organized by Nandalike-Abbanadka Sri Durgaparameshwari Friends Club (R), which is recognized as the best youth organization in the district.
Tributes were paid to the 44 slain soldiers and a minute's silence was maintained in their honour. Candles were lit in front of the portrait of Bharath Mathe and respect was paid to the brave soldiers who died for the country.
Speaking on the occasion Sandeep V Poojary, convener of the club said that the citizens of India have to instill confidence and show empathy to the family members of the soldiers who were killed in the terrorist attack at Pulwama a year ago.
President of the club Abbanadka Sandeep V Poojary, secretary Prashant Poojary, former president Ananda Poojary, Birottu Dinesh Poojary, Casrabailu Suresh Poojary, joint secretary Sandhya Shetty, members Abbanadka Suresh Poojary and Sunita Pinto were present.
