Mangaluru, Feb 20: "Bio-molecules is the future of Physics," stated Mohammed Hussain K Rabinal, Professor of Physics, Kuvempu University, Dharwad in his address at a National Conference on 'Novel Materials and Devices for Future Applications'.
The seminar held on February 18 was organized by the department of Physics, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru. Rabinal narrated the importance of bio-molecules in electronics. The enzymes easily bind the chemical molecules, which can be tailored as per the requirement.
Dr Paul Joseph from NIT Warangal inaugurated the conference. The conference was organized by the department of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Physics of the College in association with the Association of Physics Teachers of Mangalore University (APTMU).
Dr A P Radhakrishna, president of APTMU, was the guest of honour. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, rector, St Aloysius College Institutions presided over the function. Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ, principal delivered the message.
Co-ordinator of Star College Scheme, Dr Ronald Nazareth, convenor of the programme, Dr Chandrashekara Shetty, HOD of Physics, Lawrence Pinto and co-convenor, Kumara K were on the dais.
Prof Lawrence Pinto welcomed the gathering while Kumara K introduced the chief guest to the audience. Dr Chandra Shekhara Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
