Bantwal, Feb 18: “The history of the country being stated after independence is false and fictitious. The truth should be made known at least to next generation,” said artiste, advocate and social activist Malavika Avinash.

She spoke after inaugurating in Kalladka Sri Rama College, a national symposium titled ‘Sashakta Vedikeyallidaru Bharatada Hejjegalu’.

“Everybody should wake up saying that we do not want the history of left wing and told by Nehru. India should be rebuilt together with it,” Appreciating the activities in the school, she said that the school was born with the theme of self-respect. “Therefore, I had special experience here,” she said.

Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha president Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in his key note address explained about the need for symposium and its inevitability. “India was hurt by defeat, loan and insults for centuries. Therefore, India had to give up its self esteem and request for help in front of other countries. The symposium is being held due to such circumstances,” he said.

Sri Rama Vidyakendra president B Narayana Somayaji presided. Convener Vasanth Madhava, Bengaluru’s Arohi Research foundation director M S Chaitra, Karnataka Sahitya Academy president Dr B V Vasanth Kumar, Campco president S R Sathishchandra were on the dais. Dr P L Dharma, N Ramesh and Sunil Kulkarni took part in the discussions. Sri Rama Pre University College principal Krishnaprasad Kayar Katte welcomed. Yatiraj compered the programme and rendered vote of thanks.

‘CAA implemented to send back those who illegally enter the country’ - Malavika Avinash

“CAA is being implemented to send back those who illegally enter the country. None of the Indians have any problems from it. Everybody has freedom to protest peacefully under democracy. But there is conspiracy for violent protests causing unrest in the country. Congress party is also involved in it. CAA is implemented to protect democracy in the country,” she said.

‘Strong India, economy, part of defence’ - B L Santhosh

“The country is progressing by determination to have basic necessities of a house, toilet for a house, cooking gas connection, electricity, internet,” said BJP national organizing secretary B L Santhosh. “The economy in the country is being strengthened. The ‘Give it app’ scheme concerning gas subsidy during the last six years is a proof to it. There was no war with Pakistan fearing vote bank. We relish victory now because of decisive leadership and high level performance,” he said.

‘Is population a danger or gain’ – M S Chaitra

“If serious thoughts are not given regarding the increase or decrease in population, there is no doubt in the country facing situation like in Europe,” said thinker, critic Mattigatta Chaitra. “The number of aged people is more in Europe at present. Younger population is almost zero. Such development is a question of extinction or survival in this country. Let India do not face such danger. Solution to problem of population is not possible by legal fights. We should search for answers for uniting cultural identities,” he said.

‘Is the country getting up from physical servitude?’ - Dr B V Vasanth Kumar

Karnataka Sahitya Academy president Dr B V Vasanth Kumar said that the country is shaken by physical servitude. “If the leaders who ruled us understood the sayings of Mahatma Gandhiji and Ambedkar that religion and principles are not the same, we would not have faced the current problems. The then Congress becoming victims of physical servitude brought about disastrous situation to Congress now. The servitude that wanted to defeat Rama is defeated. The country is getting relieved from physical servitude in the present administration. We should develop the pride towards our country together with social thinking,” he called.

History was whitewashed at the time of independence and that was the need of the hour. Nehru and the Congress party of that time, had a huge challenge of integrating the country, reforms that enabled integration and whitewashing was part of the process.

In order to see the positive effect of the same, you please see next door. Land reforms never happened. The country was born in the name of a religion, but dominated by Punjab, which is 80% of the country's economy. All other provinces continue to have different identities and the politics is still controlled by elite families, jagirdars and Choudharys in each province and so far the only thing that kept these losely knit ethnic provinces is the religion. Grass root democracy never took roots. If ethnicity grows stronger, then this country will break through those ethnic lines. And tensions are everywhere there.

There are many examples of present day disputes around the world for which the tragedies have roots deeper in the historic past. Korea-Japan, China-Korea, Iran and rest of Middle East, and the list is endless.

However, case for correct history is also so that we never commit such mistakes again. While I fully support Nehru for whitewashing the history, current day politicians with no knowledge of history using it for political ends are also dangerous. It is an irony that we have no issue with our colonial masters who ruled barbarically for several centuries, but we have only issues with rulers who ruled India barbarically before British. Well, that is probably because British are not part of current day electorate.

When real history exposes you, you find fault with it. But remember history is history and cannot be misrepresented. At least from the 14th century it has been recorded on a day to day basis.

Always, history is written by the winners.
Congress had won India after Independence, they got PM post for Nehru, they were in the good books of British unlike the real heroes of Independence struggle, hence they were obliged to please British by writing distorted history of independence struggle. The real heroes like Bhagath Singh, Nethaji and Savarkars were shadowed by Gandhis and Nehrus!
