Mangaluru Feb 14: Former Minister Ramanath Rai said,” the state government has miserably failed to resolve the problems of the people.

Addressing media here on Thursday February 14, Ramanath Rai said, “The gas price hike has affected the people. In the past, whenever gas price went up by a few rupees, the BJP used to hold protests, but today the gas price has been hiked by Rs 145 soon after the Delhi elections. State government has miserably failed to resolve the problems of the state."

He also said, “Our state witnessed natural calamities, but not a single rupee from MLA grant was released. Nearly Rs 2800 crore is pending to be disbursed to the state under Employment Guarantee scheme, and GST share of Rs 30,000 crore is pending to be provided to the state. On the other hand, they are increasing the electricity charges and pruning down rice under Anna bhagya scheme. Even the grant is not released for the Basava housing scheme. As Siddaramaiah rightly said, this is a wretched government. Siddaramaiah was not wrong in saying so. This is a wretched government with zero achievement."

Even the Ambedkar Bhavan construction is being delayed. When Siddaramaiah was the chief minister, there was no scarcity for money in introducing various schemes for the people, said Ramanath Rai.

Corporator Shashidhar Hegde, Naveen D Souza and others were present.
