Ballari, Feb 14: Medical officer attached to Hospet taluk government hospital Dr Mahantesh, stated that a person named Sachin, who was found suffering in a Benz car after the vehicle met with an accident three days back, was brought to the hospital. He revealed that Sachin had died before he could be brought to the hospital, and his postmortem was performed the same night.

Speaking to media persons, the doctor said that Sachin did not survive his trip to the hospital, as he was seriously injured. Three other young men in the car were also injured. Out of them, the backbone of Rakesh had been fractured. Therefore, the doctor said he had advised them to leave for Bengaluru the next morning, and thereafter arranged ambulance to take them to Bengaluru.

"The other two, Shivakumar and Rahul, had suffered minor injuries. Therefore, we treated them at the outpatient department of the hospital. The police requested us to complete the postmortem process of Sachin urgently as he had connections with minister, R Ashok. We received the body at around 1.30 am that night. We completed postmortem by 3.30 am," he explained.

He also said that the postmortem of Ravi Naik, who had died in the accident, was performed the next morning, after which his body was handed over.

After a car hit a boy standing at Mariyammanahalli in Hoskote taluk, Ballari district on February 10, he had died on the spot. Sachin from Bengaluru, who was also in the car, had also died due to serious injuries later. The name of Sharath, son of revenue minster, R Ashok, is being linked with this accident. The police have begun investigation into this aspect.
