Mangaluru, Feb 12: In view of the fact that presence of Coronavirus infection in Kerala has been confirmed, the department of health continues to undertake precautionary measures all over Dakshina Kannada district. The task of checking in important places for the presence of symptoms of the virus continues.
People arriving at the airport here and those leaving from here are also being screened. Till Tuesday February 11, 7,200 people were examined. So far no symptoms of Coronavirus infection have been found. The officials said that this check is being conducted as a precautionary measure and assured the people that there is no need to be panicky.
District surveillance officer Dr Navinchandra Kulal, said that a passenger ship from Columbia is slated to touch Mangaluru port during this week, and a close watch would be kept on the passengers and crew of the ship.
Similarly, precautionary measures against the spread of Coronavirus continue to be followed in Udupi district and no infection has been found there so far.
