Sullia, Feb 12: In connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl from Subrahmanya, the police personnel of Subrahmanya station have arrested four persons named as accused.
Reportedly, after she became pregnant, the girl had consumed some tablets provided by these men for the purpose of aborting her pregnancy. As the girl suffered from excessive bleeding thereafter, her family members came to know about it, and they had filed complaint in the police station. The victim, during the initial stages of questioning, had named the culprits as Sanketh and Venkatesh. However, later the girl also came up with the names of Deekesh, Chandrashekhar, Durgaprasad and Ashok.
Durgaprasad and Chandrashekhar have gone into hiding. The other four accused stand arrested. The police, who have registered the case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, duly taking into account the fact that girl is a minor, have begun investigation.
