Panaji: Case Filed Against Sanatan Sanstha for Violating Foreigners Act

Panaji, Oct 23: Goa police on Thursday October 22 filed a complaint against Sanatan Sanstha for allowing the foreigner to stay in their ashram at Ramnathi, without filling mandatory `C' form.

"Police have filed suo motto complaint against Virendra Marathe, trustee of Sanstha for allowing the foreigners stay there violating the norms," Superintendent of Police (North) Bosco George said.

A french couple -- Cyriaque Valles along with his wife Anatanasia and a child were found at the Ashram.

Police said that the offence is registered against Sanstha for violating Foreigners Act, which makes it mandatory for the foreigners to intimate the local police station about their stay in the jurisdiction.

Form C, a formality needs to be completed which will inform the police about their stay and duration.

Sanstha’s ashram, which came under severe scanner after October 16 Margao blast, had the french couple staying there.

Goa Home Minister Ravi Naik was ealier on record stating that they will probe the foreign link of the ashram. He had said that there were many foreigners, who visited, but the ashram had failed to maintain any record of their visit.
