Mangaluru, Feb 10: The inaugural of the renovated showroom of 'Symphony,' an exclusive dealer of eastern and western musical instruments, was held at Mahendra Arcade, Bunts Hostel here on Sunday, February 9.
Tonse Ranga Pai, veteran musician and former deputy registrar of MAHE University, Manipal inaugurated the eastern musical instruments showroom by cutting the ribbon. Manikanth Kadri, renowned music director, inaugurated the western music instruments showroom by lighting the lamp.
Ustad Rafique Khan, well-known classic musician, participated in the capacity of chief guest. Fr Leo D’ Souza blessed both the showrooms and led prayer.
In his inaugural speech, Tonse Ranga Pai stressed that there is no differences in music. "On the basis of instruments, we have classified it into western and eastern. Music has one language and one culture. It always is close to human feelings. On this basis music should be used to serve the causes of humanity and harmony. Because music has the power of bringing all together and keeping them united. I congratulate Loy and his team for the new renovated showrooms. We wish that many such showrooms will come up across the coastal belt in the upcoming years."
In his address, Manikanth Kadri said, "Symphony contributed a lot for the field of music in Mangaluru. My father also used to visit Symphony for his various purposes relating to music. This showroom has all international brand musical instruments which only one used to find get earlier in Mumbai and Kolkata. Mangaluru is known for education and class hospitals. The people like Loy are trying to make it famous in music too. Definitely in the coming years, it will be known in the name of music also. Our music students, institution should think on this way. I congratulate Loy and his team for beautiful showroom and wish them all success."
Vinitha Noronha welcomed the guests and invitees. Loy Noronha, managing director of 'Symphony' rendered the vote of thanks. Mahesh Nayak compered the event.
After the inauguration, a musical concert was presented by Ustad Rafique Khan and his team.
