Chikkamagaluru, Feb 8: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Saturday, February 8 said that more than checking migrants coming to the state if they are affected with Coronavirus, an eye has to be kept on Keralites as to why they are coming to the state.
Speaking to the scribes in the city, Karandlaje further said, "The number of Keralites visiting the district has increased considerably. They are not coming with the only purpose of touring the district. They are arriving for various reasons. A thorough inquiry has to be done as to why number of Keralites has shot up suddenly in the district.
"Whether the Keralite migrants are coming on their own, or are they being brought to the district by some people? The aim of their arrival should be checked. During the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act violence in Mangaluru, people had arrived from Kerala. So there is a suspicion on them. Vehicles arriving from Kerala also need to be monitored. In addition, lots of complaints are heard about Keralites. There is a concern about their activities in the district,” she said.
