Mangaluru, Feb 8: Renowned science writer Nandita Jayaraj, well known for her science media platform, The Life of Science and author of the 31 Fantastic Adventures in Science: Women Scientists in India will be conducting a workshop for children at the Early Learning Centre (ELC)/ Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) campus in Bejai-Kapikad on February 9.
The unique book presents the stories of thirty-one of these trailblazing women who work in a diverse array of fields, from environmental biotechnology to particle physics, paleo biology to astrophysics. Through their research, they uncover the mysteries of the universe, find more sustainable ways of living, and cure life-threatening diseases and study animals and plants that are long gone.
Find out what drew them to science, read about how they deal with the difficulties and pressures of their work, and learn how they push the boundaries of human knowledge further and further every day. The books will be available for sale at the Makers’ Fete, a free event that is open to all.
The Makers’ Fete is expected to attract huge crowd, both parents and children from across Mangaluru and the surrounding areas and will engage them in various expert-led sessions apart from various art and food stalls.
Deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh will felicitate Bal Puraskar Awardee and giving away prizes to the winners of the district level exams MTSC and Ramanujan Contest conducted by CFAL.
