Haveri: Shiggaon tahsildar gets transfer order cancelled - Accuses home minister

Haveri, Feb 8: Shiggaon tahsildar, Chandashekhar Gali, was transferred on February 3 because of certain allegations against him. But Gali has succeeded in bringing stay order from Karnataka Administrative Tribunal against the order. He returned to his office on Thursday evening and resumed charge.

As per rules, officers cannot be transferred before the completion of two years. Gali said that he was transferred as per the recommendation of district in-charge and home minster, Basavaraj Bommai, illegally. He said that the in-charge minister did not respond to problems of the taluk and never gave time to him to discuss development issues.

It is learnt that Gali was transferred as there were allegations of discriminatory attitude in disbursing compensation relating to drought an floods, and he was also accused of promptly responding to demands made by only Congress activists.
