Beltangady: Man who murdered wife before fleeing arrested

Beltangady, Feb 8: The police from here have succeeded in arresting a man who had murdered his wife at Kaje near Gerukatte in Kaliya village in the taluk about six weeks back. The man had absconded after committing the murder.

The arrested accused happens to be Ummer Farooq (38) from Gerukatte Kaje House. He is a ganja addict and reportedly kicked up fight with wife often. The couple quarrelled on family matters. When in angry mood, Farooq had murdered his wife Tasleema, and escaped. The fact that his wife was murdered had come into the open on December 17.

Police circle inspector here, Sandesh P G, led a team comprising police sub-inspector, Nandakumar M M and others that arrested the accused from Mysuru and produced him in the court here on February 7.
