Margao, Oct 21: Following the comments of the former union minister and Congress Party spokesman, Ramakant Khalap, in connection with the Margao blasts, that the Chief Minister may have been the target of the miscreants, Bhartiya Janata Party leaders have advised Khalap to gather full details of the incident before speaking about it.

Sidhanath Buyao, convener of BJP cultural cell, accused in a press note, that the Congress leaders have been trying to politicize the blast issue, which is not right.

According to him, at the time when the blast occurred, Fatorda BJP MLA Damodar Naik, councillor and BJP member Narayan Fondekar, Sidhanath Buyao, Solid Party members and others too were sharing the dais with the Chief Minister at the ‘Narkasur’ competition.

Whatever happened on the eve of Diwali, should not have happened. But the Congress Party as well as its leaders should remember that this is not the time to indulge in hurling allegations against each others, but to help the policemen to investigate the same thoroughly, Buyao said further.

The BJP has come down heavily on the Congress Party, saying that the government has failed to maintain law and order in the state, alleging that a series of murders have taken place in the state in the recent past, because of this laxity. It said that the criminals are not apprehensive or bothered about the police actions and that the perpetrators of crime have been moving about freely. If the police department had set up Nakabandis and had arranged for proper patrolling, no one would have dared to transport the bombs in this commercial city of Goa and other places, the party has been saying.

Khalap has no right to say that ‘there is no specific condemnation from the BJP too along with other Hindu Organization’ about the blast incidents. The leader of opposition in the state, Manohar Parrikar, has strongly demanded for a thorough CBI investigation into the issue and has demanded that the perpetrators of the incidents be booked, whoever they be, Buyao clarified.

The BJP has urged the people not to get carried away by the campaign of wrong information being spread by some politicians, with the specific purpose of giving a political hue to this issue. Instead of trying to get a political mileage out of the incidents, the concerned should help the policemen in this case, if they have any information by sharing it, it added.

No charge sheet has as yet been filed in the Margao sword seizure case, even after 18 months. Khalap should first explain to the people of Goa why he is mum on this issue. Was it not an act of waging war against the state? If yes, why is this case being allowed to be given a decent burial?, the BJP leaders have questioned.

Buyao further said that the BJP is very clear in the Margao blast case, that the guilty should be punished and should not be allowed to go Scot free. If members of any organizations are found guilty then the guilty should be punished, he added.
