Mangaluru, Feb 6: Public of the city was given an opportunity earlier to be the witnesses of the police firing that occurred on December 20 in which two people lost their lives. Lots of people had deposed before the authorities on that occasion.
Now, the public is given one more chance to give their evidence and this time also scores of people have arrived to give evidence at the magisterial inquiry into the incident. This opportunity was given on the directions of the court.
More than 75 people presented themselves in front of the Magistrate at the assistant commissioner's hall in the Mini Vidhan Soudha in the city.
The witness gathering is being done under the leadership of Magisterial investigating office and DC of Udupi G Jagadeesha. So far 201 people, including eye witnesses have testified with regards to this case. Video evidence is also provided by some of the eye witnesses to support what they saw on the day of anti-CAA protest violence and subsequent police firing.
