Bantwal, Feb 6: The Youth Red Cross unit, the NSS unit and Student Council of Carmel College Modankap jointly organized a service activity at Jeevadana, HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Centre Gurpur.

The students entertained the inmates with a cultural programme, conducted games and distributed snacks to them.

The students and staff collected some amount and handed it over to the director of the centre. They also contributed food items, nutrition items and detergent soap to the inmates.

It was an exposure programme for the students to be aware of the problems of people, to be understanding and compassionate toward them and to reach out to them in love and acceptance.

Sharing with the needy multiplies one's happiness in life. Around 42 students participated in the programme. Principal Dr Sr Latha AC, vice-principal Florine Menezes, Madhura NSS officer and Joel Mascarenhas, lecturer in commerce, Vinitha Veigas, YRC officer were present.
