Nethara Neravu blood donation camp held at Udupi

Udupi, Feb 5: 'Nethara Neravu', a blood donation camp was organised at Samyukta High School Mudugiliyaru, Kota on February 2.

Inaugurating the camp, Udupi District Hospital head Dr Nagesh called blood donation as the greatest charity. He also called Udupi district blood bank unit as a model for the state, adding it has brought about awareness and a social revolution.

The blood donation camp was organised by Mudugiliyaru Janaseva Trust in association with Udupi District Blood Bank Unit, Kodi Kanyana Veera Kesari Sports Club and Siddhapur Chakravarthi Balaga.

Dr Nagesh further said that the district blood bank is helping the patients anytime. Saving a person’s life is a great service and is equal to serving the nation.

Another guest of the event Veena Kumari, head of district hospital blood bank unit said, "Donors should create awareness and motivate others to donate blood. During the emergency time, people can get more information from 'Jeeva Sanjivini App'."

Shivaram Bhat, headmaster, Mudugiliyaru High School, presided over the programme.

Satish Poojary, president, Jaya Karnataka District Unit, Bharat Shetty, taluk panchayat former member, Rajarama Shetty, vice president, Kota village panchayat, Vasanth Kanchan, Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Sastan and businessman Satish Shetty and Alwyn Andrade, former president Rotary Brahmavar were present.
