Mangaluru, Feb 4: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) which took up a hearing on the police firing and deaths in Mangaluru during the December 19, 2019, anti-CAA protest, told petitioners that it has received directives that the cases will be transferred to National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
Families of Nausheen, Jaleel who were killed in police firing during the anti-CAA protest and former mayor Ashraf who was injured in the protest along with National Social Media Coordinator Mahila Congress Lavanya Ballal, who is a petitioner in the appeal appeared before SHRC in Bengaluru.

Mahila Congress national social media coordinator and activist Lavanya Ballal told Daijiworld that the SHRC bench told them that the evidence cannot be viewed as NHRC has issued directives that all cases have to be transferred to them.
The case was presented by advocate Rakshith Shivaram.
