Saudi Arabian authorities mum on Kundapur man's arrest over derogatory posts

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 3: Saudi Arabian authorities have not responded to any query regarding the arrest of Harish Bangera from Kundapur, who allegedly shared hate posts on Saudi Arabia's crown prince Mohammad bin Salman on Facebook.

Bangera, who was employed as an air-conditioning technician for a company in Dammam was arrested on December 20.

The Ministry of External Affairs have sent several requests but authorities in the Gulf nation have not responded to even a single query.

The Saudi officials have also warned people from Bangera’s hometown in meeting him in prison as he has committed a serious offence. Bangera’s roommate from Pakistan tried his best to get him out of prison but to no avail.

Meanwhile, Bangera’s wife Sumana M remains inconsolable. She has alleged conspiracy and claims a fake social media account was used to post derogatory messages and frame her husband.

Sumana says that their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter asks about her father every single day. “Harish used to frequently video call and talk to our daughter. She cannot understand why her father is not calling her anymore,” she told media.

The Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) police in Udupi who are investigating if the account is fake are still unclear whether the account is fake. According to a police source, in the same ID there was a video apologizing for the hate remarks.

In GCC countries one can enjoy life and also the benefits of making some savings, provided any one breaks the law of the land. The government is very strict towards those who speak or comments on social media about the rule and Rulers of the country. No excuse even to the citizens of the country.
There are people who have been working for decades and they enjoy the benefits being served by the
government. Even if Indian government cannot interfere in the matter because that is their internal policy. (don't we remember what Ravishankar Prasad told on EU members concern about CAA)

Its not India, It is Saudi Arabia; innocent, conspiracy, fake ID, mentally unstable, political influence/ god fathers, bail and clean chit bla bla it does not work in Saudi Arabia.
What he did a serious offense and Saudi authorities would not arrest any innocent. Prior to arrest Saudi Cyber cell police/anchorites would verify the IP address of posts based on that then only they arrest. Each and every resident of Saudi Arabia should follow law of the land.

We dearly miss respected Mam Sushma Swaraj. She was a true person for her post. Today many dont even know who is the foreign affairs minster of India. No matter which country one is travelling. Knowing their rules, culture, tradition and respecting it is very important.

Ramadan is fast approaching may the kind authorities forgive our brother Bangera and give him a chance at least for the sake of his child. Many Mangalorean associations in Saudi also can approach with the help of Indian embassy for a mercy petition.

Think twice before you accept job offers from such nations , its better to beg and eat in our own country than go to such countries where there are no fair trails and only kangaroo courts work . I have read many instances in Saudi where the whole court proceedings take place in Arabic only and the accused is totally unaware of what his fate will be until one day the decision comes up sometimes death by beheading .

The kind of leadership and the some of main stream media that's currently followed in India by the common blind bhakts, the freedom of freely barking on anything and everything is only available in India. This guy was very well aware of where he is working and living and the rules of the country. Now no one will be able to help him out except God Almighty gives wisdom to Saudi authorities to forgive him. Where are all those who thumping their chests gone now.

the ministry should do all its best and the forum in Saudi Arabia also should try its best and for the family and the child particularly i feel very sorry. all of us should restrain from comments like this in the kingdom it has very strong law for the kind of post.
one thing i want to say is in a democratic country like India where there are two laws for a school play in which some words were said against Mr Modi are labeled as sedition and Mr Bhat's school which played the demolition act nothing . what should we expect from a monarchy. i am not writing this as i don't have anything against mr Harish actually i am very sorry for his condition . we all should restrain from this kind of actions which is against our secular nation and one more thing for our leaders please, please don't divide our country in the name of religion and caste which does no good other than harm

Here one thing should need to judge who are kind to the humanity as you can noticed Bangera’s roommate from Pakistan tried his best to get him out of prison but to no avail. The intolerant groups who claim to be the stakeholders of hindu religion should bow down on shame.
