New Delhi, Feb 3: According to sources, BJP High command has reportedly ordered MP Anantkumar Hegde to ask unconditional apology for creating the controversy by saying that 'Freedom Struggle is a drama'.
Speaking at a programme at Bengaluru on February 1, MP Hegde had said, "According to history it says that British left India fearing the hunger fast. When one hears this the blood gets clotted."
MP Hegde had ridiculed the non-violence struggle of freedom without taking the name of Mahatma Gandhi. He had also said that we will not show the other cheek when someone slaps on one our cheeks.

MP Hegde had further said, "There were three types in the independent struggle of India. Revolutionaries like Chandrashekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh made an armed fight. The other division brought people like Shivaji, Hakka and Bukka through rightwing national ideology. The third group of people asked the British how to fight against them and made compromise with them. Those who have not taken any blow in the independent struggle are being projected as the freedom fighters in the independent struggle of India."
‘MP Anantkumar Hegde is shameless’ - Siddaramaiah
Former CM Siddaramaiah took to task BJP MP Anantakumar Hegde, who gave a statement recently that Indian has not got freedom through non-violence and those who are calling themselves as freedom fighters and progressive thinkers are nothing but useless people, in the city once again.
Siddaramaiah ridiculed MP Hegde and said that Anantkumar Hegde also was in the freedom struggle along with Gandhiji, Nehru and Vallabhbhai Patel, that is why he is giving such accurate statement.
Siddaramaiah also made fun of MP Hegde by saying that there might be some amount of truth also in the statement given by him. The former CM further said, "MP Anantkumar Hegde is a shameless person. He does not have any self-respect. Central government also did not take any action on him for his controversial statement on national leaders. Though Hegde said that BJP has come to power to change the constitution of India, the central government did not remove him from the position of union minister. It is not right to speak lowly about freedom fighters. Freedom fighters have been in prison, lost their lives, and sacrificed their families for the sake of the nation."
"If freedom fighters were not there and there was no constitution in the country would Anantkumar Hegde become an MP? Everyone got the right to vote only after the formation of the constitution of India. I do not know why people like Hegde become MPs without reading the constitution of the country."
Siddaramaiah had attacked Anantkumar Hegde verbally on Sunday also in the city of Mysuru and said, "What can be expected from people who worship Godse and Savarkar? What does Hegde know about freedom struggle? Let Anantkumar Hegde recall the names of people who lost their lives in the freedom struggle. Does Hegde know how many
years Gandhiji was in prison during the independence struggle of India? Hegde said that I have born on August 3, 1947 before the independence."
Reacting to the verbal argument of Siddaramaiah, Anantkumar Hegde tweeted, "Siddaramaiah, who had said that he cannot provide his birth records for CAA, has now corrected all his records and is giving statements. It means that the action taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given fruit. Is it not?”
