Bengaluru, Feb 2: A Bengaluru-based family was tested for Coronavirus, after their neighbours alerted officials that they had recently returned from China.
The News Minute reported that a team of doctors from the health and family welfare department visited to check on the family on Thursday January 30. However, they received a cold response. On Friday, after an ambulance with staffers arrived at the apartment again, the family agreed to visit the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD).
The family had not traveled to Wuhan but to another province in China before returning to India on January 23. The family was also screened at the airport.
According to Dr Deepak UG, nodal officer, coronavirus isolation ward at RGICD, none of the family members had fever or chest pain. However, they had gastrointestinal problems. Their blood and sputum samples have been sent for test and results are awaited, the doctor added.
