Udupi: 'Coronavirus - no need for alarm, but remain alert' - DC

Udupi, Feb 1: Deputy commissioner of the district, G Jagadeesh, asked the people in general not to be unduly apprehensive or fearful about the spread of diseases through Coronavirus about which a lot is being heard now. At the same time, he asked them to get to know about the symptoms of the disease and to be careful and alert about them.

He was speaking after presiding over a district coordination committee meeting of health department at the office of the deputy commissioner on Friday January 31. He noted that so far no disease spread by the said virus has been reported in Karnataka, but one case was detected in Kerala. He asked health officials to take all preemptive measures and advised the people not to give undue importance to rumours. He asked the concerned to print and distribute posters containing details of symptoms of the disease, precautions to be taken against spread of the disease etc and to organize awareness programmes.

District health and family welfare officer, Dr Sudheer Chandra Sooda, said that awareness programmes are being organized by this department and meetings will be held with doctors from Manipal and private medical institutes.

    Go muthra and cowdung has been advised as the treatment for corona virus by Hindu Mahasaba so we are not worried about this virus.
