Belagavi, Jan 29: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa was in the city to inaugurate various works and also on tour of the district on Wednesday, January 29.
Speaking to reporters, Yediyurappa gave good news to four MLAs of Belagavi. The CM announced that minister position is guaranteed for Ramesh Jarkiholi, Srimantha Patil and Mahesh Kumatalli. In addition, he said that along with these three MLAs, minister position will be given to senior MLA Umesh Katti.
Yediyurappa gave a little shock to Sriramulu by saying that there is no more DCM post in the government.
Though Yediyurappa confirmed minister positions for the four MLAs, at the end of the interaction with scribes he said that he will discuss this with BJP national president J P Nadda in New Delhi and the final decision lies on his green signal.
There were questions raised about giving ministers positions to six MLAs of the same district. It is learnt that prominent positions will be given to Umesh Katti and Ramesh Jarkiholi. Mahesh Kumatalli and Srimantha Patil will be offered corporation or board posts.
The announcement of BSY has made the four MLAs happy. However, the statement of BSY of final nod from J P Nadda, still keeps the positions of these MLAs hanging.
On the whole, Yediyurappa, had decided to offer minister berth to all 11 new MLAs as per this promise. But how the BJP high command agrees for this is to be seen. Only when Yediyurappa returns from Delhi after meeting J P Nadda, the final list will be known.
