Mangaluru, Jan 28: On January 27, 2020, Mount Carmel Central School hosted the CBSE seminar on ‘Happy Classroom’ for teachers of CBSE schools for DK and Udupi districts. Dr Reshma Ganesh, principal of Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidyamandir Bengaluru (East) was the resource person.
The seminar began with a prayer song followed by a welcome dance from the students of Mount Carmel Central School. Principal Sr Melissa welcomed the resource person and introduced her to the participants. Symbolically the diya was lit by the resource person Dr Reshma Ganesh, principal Sr Melissa, vice-principal Sr Lidwyn Pinto and two participants.
Dr Reshma Ganesh began the session with warm-up games which also introduced the session i.e. creating self-awareness. Various topics were discussed during the sessions regarding self-awareness, classroom management, balancing relationships to build 'Happy Classroom' situations. Real classroom situations were discussed with solutions to these problems. There was active participation from everyone.
It was an enriching seminar that taught the participants several strategies to build a 'Happy Classroom'. The session ended with the topic ‘adopting a storytelling method’ to teach different subjects. Physical presence and moods were also highlighted. At the end of the day, Zanet, a teacher from MCCS proposed the vote of thanks.
