Panaji: Five Konkani Books Released by DKA termed Historical

Panaji, Oct 10: Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA), a premier institution espousing the cause of Konkani in Roman script released 5 Konkani books including a travelogue penned by late Dr (Prof) Olivinho Gomes at a function held at Goa State Museum Auditorium, Patto here on Thursday October 8. 



Releasing the books, chief guest Dr Francisco Colaco said that release of five books at a time was a historical day in the life of DKA and called upon Konkani readers to shoulder their responsibility by patronizing Konkani newspapers and periodicals.

Tomazinho Cardozo, president, Tiatr Akademi, Goa was the guest of honour. He reminded the gathering the importance of our cultural heritage and appealed to the tiatr fraternity to preserve their works in the book form. 

The Panam (poetry) – Fr Simon Rico Fernandes, Murmure (poetry) – Fr Pratap Naik, Bhaili Bhonvddi (travelogue) - late Dr (Prof) Olivinho Gomes, Liplelim Motiam (reflections) – Fr Ubaldo Fernandes and Bhaddeacho Kusvo (tiatr) – Menino M Araujo were the five books released on the occasion.

Fr Pratap Naik spoke on behalf of the authors whose books were released.
