Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 24: A case has been registered in a Kerala police station based on a tweet made by Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje.
The MP had tweeted about water supply to Hindu colony in Kerala having been stopped for supporting Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). She had said in the tweet dated January 22 that water supply had been severed to Hindu colony in Kuttipuram panchayat within Malappuram district just because the residents of the colony supported Citizenship Amendment Act.
Shobha had said that Kerala has been inching towards turning into another Kashmir, and that this was proved by the fact that water supply to houses of Hindus in Kuttipuram panchayat in Malappuram was stopped as they supported CAA.
She also had wondered whether the media based in New Delhi would expose before the people about this peaceful intolerance happening in God's own country. She also had enclosed a photo of water being supplied to the colony residents by Seva Bharathi organization through tankers.
A local resident and Supreme Court lawyer Subhash Chandran, had complained to the police against this tweet. The police have accused Shobha of fostering a sense of enmity between different communities based on religion.
