Mangalore: Palemar to lead march to Collect Flood Relief Fund on Oct 7

Mangalore, Oct 6: District in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar said that he will lead a march in the city to collect funds for flood relief on Wednesday October 7 with the intention of helping flood victims.
Speaking at a press meet on Tuesday October 6, Palemar said that the march to undertake fund collection will begin from deputy commissioner’s office with the participation of people’s representatives and the officers of various departments. The four groups to be formed for the purpose will march on the main streets of city for about two hours. Tahsildars will make taluk-wise collection of funds and the payee will be acknowledged with receipt, he said.
Deputy commissioner (DC) V Ponnuraj has been directed to take all the necessary action for collection of funds and keep an eye on misuse of such funds, he said adding DC will be held responsible for any failure in this regard. He said that the organizations and persons, who want to collect funds for the flood relief, should obtain permission from the deputy commissioner. He also asked public co-operation in this regard.
Members of parliament Sadananda Gowda, Nalin Kumar Kateel and DC V Ponnuraj were present.
