Mangaluru, Jan 22: The accused who allegedly planted an explosive device at Mangaluru International Airport, Adithya Rao, was brought to Mangaluru by the ACP of Mangaluru North Belliyappa and other officials on Wednesday, January 22.
The police along with the accused boarded 7.15 pm flight from Kempegowda Airport in Bengaluru to reach Mangaluru International Airport at 8:30 pm.
Earlier, Adithya had landed at DG & IGP office on Nrupatunga Road in the early hours on Wednesday and surrendered himself. He was then taken to Halsoor Gate police station for questioning.
ACP Belliyappa from Mangaluru went to Bengaluru and took custody of Aditya Rao who was taken to hospital for check-up and produced in a local court for transit custody and further interrogation by Mangaluru police.
Aditya was taken to Panambur police station from Mangaluru International Airport. He is expected to be produced before the court and remanded to police custody for further inquiry.
