Gulbarga: Mission Congress of Diocese Kristotsava- 2009 Celebrated

Gulbarga, Oct 3: Kristotsava- 2009 was celebrated at the campus of St Joseph Convent here, recently. The event can be described as the Mission Congress of the diocese of Gulbarga.
Kristotsava- 2009 was attended by delegates from the districts of Bijapur, Bidar and Gulbarga and was graced by Archbishop Bernard Moras of Bangalore, Bishop Thomas Vazhapilly of Mysore, Bishop A P D’Souza of Mangalore, Bishop Peter Machado of Belgaum, Bishop Antonyswamy of Chikmagalur and Dr H T M Sangliana the former IGP of Karnataka and former MP.
Speaking on the occasion, Archbishop Bernard Moras quoting St. Paul said, “Woe to me if we fail to inculcate these values permeated with a sense of love, service, justice and truth through our institutions.
Jagadeva Mallibommayya Swamiji of Almel Mutt said that Mother Teresa is a true witness to being Christian and people who only pursue worldly affairs without human values of love and compassion towards the suffering are in fact dead even if they are alive
Janab Ramzan Darga appreciating Jesus Christ said that he is the divine human example of true love and service and extolled the example set before humanity by Mother Teresa. He said that we must build our homes in heaven through our attitude of a forgiving love and thus be inheritors of all the good values in religions.
Shirtady William Pinto appealed to the people to enter clean and democratic politics which must be restored to its original nature, of being a mission for the welfare of the people. Few participants of Christotsava celebrations shared their experiences in the two day-programme.
