Mangaluru, Jan 17: Around 1500 Oil and Gas industry professionals from India and abroad are likely to attend the 24th 'Refining & Petrochemicals Technology Meet' beginning here on January 19. An interaction with media will be part of the inauguration.
This RPTM event is organized at Bengaluru from January 19 to 21. The Centre for High Technology (CHT), a strategic wing of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, is organizing it in association with Karnataka’s prestigious refinery, MRPL (Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd) a Miniratna PSU. MRPL is a unit of ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India) and does 6% India Crude Oil refining caters to the hydrocarbon needs of many regions of south India.
The three-day event is slated to be inaugurated by Union Minister for Oil and Natural Gas and Steel Petroleum Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan. Dr M M Kutty, secretary MOPNG, MRPL’s managing director, M Venkatesh, K K Jain executive director CHT and top officials and industry leaders of CHT, all major Oil and Gas Industries including ONGC, IOCL, BPCL,HPCL and MRPL etc are expected to be present.
The theme of the meet is 'Driving Refining and Petrochemicals towards Sustenance'. The prestigious energy performance awards of the Indian oil sector shall also be given away during the meet. Delegates from around the world are expected to take part in the event as informed by the MRPL sources.
Various speakers on the occasion are expected to throw light on the future, challenges and strategies that need to be adopted by the Oil and Gas Industry for sustenance in the coming days. Many energy and efficiency awards will be presented on the occasion to the best performers among the Oil and Gas industries for encouraging productivity and efficiency while promoting innovation and research-oriented approach. An endeavour will be made to channelize the national and international knowledge and expertise to make the sector sustainable and thriving in the days to come.
