Bengaluru, Jan 16: In a joint operation, personnel of the central crime branch here and Tamil Nadu police succeeded in arresting Mansoor Khan, said to be the brain behind reviving Jihadi activities inspired by ISIS in the state. Mansoor is said to be close to Mehboob Pasha, main operative of ISIS in the state.
Mansoor used to work as a driver of a school bus here. Motivated by ISIS ideologies, he had brought together young people for strengthening Jihadi activities in the state. Sources said that he had also organized a number of meetings in his residence at Gurappana Palya here.
Mansoor had trained his own brother, Mohammed Haneef, for fuelling Jihadi activities, it is gathered. Chennai Q branch police had recently arrested another terror suspect, Haneef.
In the meanwhile, it is being claimed that the responsibility of helping Tauseef and Shameem who were arrested from Udupi recently, was given to two young men from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district. The police have got information that Tauseef and Shameem had come to the city seeking shelter, and the responsibility of keeping them in a safe place was given to Abdul Mateen Ahmed and Mussaveer Hussain from Thirthalli. Both of them are in hiding now. Tauseef and Shameem were close associate of Mohammed Khwaja, who has links with ISIS and both of them had participated in meetings organized in the house of Pasha. In addition, they also had made preparations to organize terrorist activities, the police sources said.
