Mangaluru: Protesters lift auto-rickshaw to make way for it to hospital

Mangaluru, Jan 15: In an exemplary display of humanity, a group of protesters lifted an auto-rickshaw to make way for it to travel to hospital on Wednesday, January 15.

The auto-rickshaw was going towards hospital with a patient when it was stuck in the traffic. The traffic congestion and long trail of vehicle was due to the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) protest rally by Muslim central committees of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts at Adyar-Kannur.

A group of people who were taking part in the protest, lifted the auto-rickshaw and placed it on the other side of the road on which vehicles were allowed to move freely.

A sea of people, convened at Adyar Kannur in Mangaluru on Wednesday in a massive protest against the CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC).

The call for a protest was issued by 'We The People', a collective organising anti-CAA protests across the country. It was supported by Muslim organisations in Dakshina Kannada and it comes almost a month after two people were killed during anti-CAA protests on December 19, 2019.

    This is possible only with minority community. Other community would have just watched and tried to find out alternative solutions. But this is called real guts. When you want to help someone you can do it. But will should be there.

    This kind of gesture and unity is seen in the majority community only when someone is murdered or for cow issues.

    Only there for creating issues, especially the upper castes.

    In the first place, why is the protest is taking place, when the law is already implemented in the country and such hulla gulla is not going to make any difference

    Keep it up our Indian brothers.
    I saw in another vodeo there was high school girl who ended up on these protests road, she looked damn scared immediately many young boys started to make hand chain and escorted her to free road.
    These protests are good, we were self centred people busy in tiktok and insta world, see now youths are embracing humanity.
    God's lesson are always beautiful and meaningful.
