Udupi, Jan 15: As part of Admar Math paryaya, food preparation is on the full swing here in at Sri Krishna Math from two days. All required arrangements have been made at Bailakere ground near the Math parking place. As many as 100 chefs are busy preparing sweet items and other food stuffs to serve devotees for the two days of paryaya.
Around 30,000 to 40,000 devotees are expected to gather on January 17 night. All arrangements have been made to perform Annasantharpana which will be held on January 18 from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm at Bhojana Shala, Bailakere ground and Madhwangana.
The chefs are working from 7 am to 5.30 pm every day.
As per the decision taken by descending and ascending Swamiji, sugar and maida is banned completely from this year.
Instead of Sugar, they are using jaggery. As many as 60,000 groundnut laddoos, 60,000 wheat laddoos and 1.20 lac sajjige vade are being prepared by the chefs. Around 10,000 laddoos will be distributed to dignitaries as prasadam.
“On January 17 night, rice, sambar, payasam, butter milk will be served and during Annasantharpana on January 18, two types of curry, rice, gulla sambar, Godhi payasam, laddoo, barfi, masala vade and buttermilk will be served for around 50,000 devotees,” said chef Vishnumurthy Bhat Udyavar cooking in-charge.
The arrangements are made for buffet system and table service meal system. A team of volunteers has been formed.
