Father of Numan, Ismail (64), in his complaint, said that his son, Numan, had left to work at Qatar about 18 months back. He was working as an accountant in that country. He used to call his family often, and on January 6 this year, had contacted family members over phone. Ismail was later informed by Numan's friend, Tausif that he had dropped off Numan at the airport at Qatar on January 7. On the same day, Oscar from Muloor reportedly visited Ismail at his home to inform him that Numan had reached Mumbai from Qatar. However, Numan did not come back home.
On January 13, Numan reportedly messaged Ismail's second son Naufal, via Instagram, stating that he was not in a position to call home. Even though message was sent to him seeking his current whereabouts, he did not respond. Ismail said in his complaint that he is not certain whether Numan has returned to India from Qatar or not. He said his son has gone missing somewhere and asked the police to locate him.
