Bengaluru, Jan 14: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has found in its investigation that large scale irregularities had happened when appointing Jawans to Border Security Force (BSF) from Karnataka quota. The investigating officers, in a charge sheet filed in the CBI special court here, have said that 163 ineligible candidates bagged employment in BSF on the basis of fake documents in Karnataka quota.

Therefore, 163 BSF Jawans working in different states are likely to lose their jobs apart from being prosecuted and sent to jail.

These irregularities happened in 2016. CBI has pointed out after prolonged investigation that BSF training department constable Chandrashekar, Vidyaranyapura Goodwill Coaching Centre owner, Satyaprakash Singh, Bengaluru (north) taluk office employee V K Kiran Kumar, an individual named Surendra Katoch and others were involved in this crime. The charge sheet has named 167 persons in total. The accused, during their questioning, informed that the agents told them that if they pay money, fake documents could be created, and they got the documents through the agents.

The candidates only knew Satyaprakash Singh. Singh reportedly collected between three to four lac rupees from each aspirant to bag jobs for them. Out of the money he collected, he had shared some money with three other accused. The CBI investigation also found that Singh and Surendra had, in the past, created fake documents on the basis of fake seals and signatures of principals, notaries, medical superintendents etc on behalf of various people.
