Puttur, Sep 29: The office of Vishwa Mangala Go Grama Yatra and fund raising campaign was inaugurated at Uppinangady near here on Tuesday September 29. Vishwa Mangala Go Grama Yatra has been embarked upon by Sangh Parivar, in order to create general awareness on sacred Cow in the contemporary India.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Uppinangady medical practitioner Dr M R Shenoy said that the sacred cow needs to be given its due importance in contemporary Indian culture. The cattle are useful to mankind throughout its life and hence it is expected to be taken care of its entire life and not sent to abattoirs, Dr Shenoy said.
RSS local leader Achyut Nayak at the inaugural of fund raising campaign said that if the various issues faced by the nation are neglected, it would pose great danger in the future. India is predominantly an agriculture-based country wherein its age old culture needs to be sustained. If the villages are neglected, the entire nation will reel under neglect, he added.
Vishwa Mangala Go Grama Yatra district president Dhanya Kumar Rai Biliyoorguttu in his presidential address urged everyone to strive for the success of the rally. Vishwa Mangala Go Grama Yatra Kadaba president Satish Nayak and Uppinangady village committee president Manoj Shetty were among others present.
