Mangaluru, Jan 13: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, has written to the union railway minister, seeking to rename Thokur railway station as 'Pejawar Railway Station', in honour of the late Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

Railway activist G K Bhat, also said that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former minister K Abhayachandra Jain, Malavoor gram panchayat and others have also recommended to change the name of Thokur railway station into 'Pejawar'.
