Mangaluru: Infant Jesus Shrine - 8th day novena dedicated to youth

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jan 13: The 8th day of novena at Infant Jesus Shrine was dedicated to youth.

‘Firm in love through all our days, we give God unceasing praise’, that’s how the youthful hearts chanted in unison on the 8th day of Novena. It was heartening to see the youth who frequented the Shrine on Sunday, January 12, both for confession and the Eucharist. For most of the devotees the Novena Mass was the second Mass as they attended the regular service in their respective parishes. Hence more faithful attended the services in the afternoon than in the morning.

The highlight of the day was the drawing competition that was held for children in the afternoon where more than 200 children participated to draw a beautiful picture of Infant Jesus. Priests officiating Mass Fr Sunil Monis, OCD, Gulbarga, Fr Melwyn Noronha, Pakshikere, Fr Deep Fernandes OCD, Fr Juze D Souza, OCD, Fr Richard Menezes, OCD, and Fr Richard Menezes, OCD. Those donated noon meals were honoured at the end of the Mass. Special adoration and prayer service was conducted for the youth. The volunteers work round the clock to cook meals, to arrange chairs to maintain discipline during
Mass and specially to guide the vehicular movement.

Cliyon and Narayan Raj, the committed staff in the video studio section are working tirelessly to upload the daily Liturgy and prayer services on YouTube and Facebook. Fr Wilfred and Fr Prakash, superior and pastor of the shrine respectively, monitor the situation and guide all the departments for better coordination.
