Sullia: Ghastly road accident at Sampaje - Two killed on spot

Sullia, Jan 11: In a horrific accident that took place on the morning of Saturday, January 11 at Koyinad near Sampaje in the taluk, two people died on the spot when their bike collided with a KSRTC bus.

The number plate of the Bike is of Jarkhand origin and it is suspected that the duo who died in the accident are also of Jarkhand.

The identity of the dead has not been established so far. 

The KSRTC bus was plying from Mangaluru to Madikeri. The incident has taken place under the limits of Madikeri police station.

Police visited the spot and conducted inspection.

    Our traffic police department does not punish the idiots who use high beam lights unnecessarily.
    High beam lights causes temporary blindness which results in fatal accidents. Must ban using high beam lights unnecessary. RIP

    that's Honda CBR 250 manufactured in India, as external sources bad overtaking was the issue although bike comes equipped with Dual Channel ABS nothing worked to save lives.

    Sad. I regularly travel by this road and have noticed that most of such accidents are caused by rash overtaking. Especially the KSRTC sarige buses, they overtake aggressively, even at curves, forcing oncoming vehicles off the road. Zero concern for other commuters. If you see one of these buses coming towards you, just slow down and give way to them.

    I àgree with you as well. The way these buses are driven, there is no way any driver can control them. They are driven horrifically and it is very unfortunate that no one does anything about this. Daiji World, a request to you.     Looks like after the accident, the bus driver has nicely parked the bus on left side....at the time of accident he was probably on wrong side....
