Bengaluru: Child’s video with pronunciation problem – Minister orders action against teacher

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 10: State minister for primary and secondary education, S Suresh Kumar, has expressed indignation at a viral video in which a child in the school is being taught by a teacher to pronounce the Kannada word, 'Pakkelubu' but the child falters repeatedly in doing so. The video which is supposed to funny, the minister says, has been spreading wrong message.

"It is but natural for kids to pronounce words wrongly. Only after repeated learning, they get the ability to correctly say a word or phrase. If the video of the child faltering in its endeavour to learn is spread through social media, the child is bound to come to know about it in course of time. Its self-confidence gets dented, and most likely it will lag behind in learning. The teachers need to teach the children to properly pronounce a word. The person who has depicted this as a major blunder himself has committed a crime in posting the video on social websites," the minister observed.

He has asked the commissioner in the department of public instruction to immediately file complaint in the cybercrime police station to find out the school in which this incident happened, and who is the teacher who recorded the video and shared it in social websites. He wants the head of the school concerned to be legally proceeded against. He has warned that the teachers and heads of schools which are found responsible for spreading such clips in social websites will be criminally proceeded against besides seeking recourse to other legal options. He has asked the commissioner to issue a circular to that affect.

This stupid teacher should be flogged in front of the same class and it should be video recorded.

He should be asked at the end as to how he is feeling. then he will come to know how the poor child might have felt during the humiliation imposed on him or her.

Such Teachers who make fun of any student should be immediately sacked.

A school is a place where children come from homes where learning is not a priority.

These wicked teachers want instant fame by mocking innocent children.

What about the parents who are also affected..It’s a shame that these teachers don’t know the trauma of being ridiculed now through social media .

The Minister would do well to name the teacher and the Head of the School in the public domain and assure they don’t get the job of a Teacher in future. This way we protect all children.

Even I find it difficult to pronounce lthe word let alone the innocent child. Good move by the minister which should act as Ia deterrent for such acts in the future.

Good the minister initiated action. We should never mock a child for his/her physical inability. Its a disgrace teacher made that vedio...the boy was very sacred, should never happen.

Why sack the teacher for doing her job. I saw the video one should appreciate the teachers patience. What about the student who had the phone in the class room. Here in Canada phones are no no in the class rooms.

It was the teacher who had the phone. The children are sitting on the floor. They cant afford phones like you Canadians. Harassment of students is a crime. This is nothing but ragging. The child might have dyslexia. Bullying like that affects self confidence and I myself have faced that growing up.
