Mangaluru, Jan 9: In the recent past, there have been instances of copying the orders emanating from the office of the district deputy commissioner (DC) on the issue of declaring holidays for schools and colleges. The aim of the miscreants is to create confusion in the minds of the people on the issue of holidays.
Through the complaint, the DC has urged the police to consider the complaint seriously and take legal steps as per Information Technology Act an Indian Penal Code.

The office of the deputy commissioner, through orders dated December 1 9 and 20, had declared holidays for all educational institutions in Dakshina Kannada district right from the Anganwadi to degree classes on December 20 and 21. Some miscreants altered this order, made it look like holiday had been declared for all schools and colleges including Anganwadi centres in the district on January 8. This order was also posted in social websites to confuse the people.
In doing so, the concerned are liable for action for forging letter head and signatures used by the office of the deputy commissioner.
