Bengaluru, Jan 9: Union home minister, Amit Shah, will participate in the public felicitation programme being extended to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on January 18 at Hubballi. The felicitation is being organized to express gratitude to the Prime Minister for undertaking awareness campaign about Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and implementing the act in an effective manner.
BJP has launched door to door campaign to create awareness about the act. The party has succeeded in educating 4.65 lac families under this campaign so far. The party has called upon its workers to undertake this campaign on January 11 and 12 on a full scale at the booth level and see that each household gets to know about this act in detail.
This information was given by state BJP general secretary Mahesh Tenginkai, at a press meet organized here on Wednesday. He added that second phase of plan of action has also been envisaged to spread awareness about the act. He said that the people have been requested to address letters to Modi from each booth, thanking him for the proper implementation of the said act.
State convener of the awareness campaign K N Ravikumar, said that Congress, communists, and some intellectuals conducted malicious campaign against the BJP by misrepresenting facts about CAA. He said that they temporarily succeeded in encouraging minorities to oppose the act, but the BJP successfully unmasked them and succeeded in convincing the people that this act has the approval of 130 crore people of the country.
"As the awareness about the act is spreading, those who were holding protests are becoming calm. When those instigating Muslims are asked to point out any one point in the act that is against the interests of the minorities, their actual purpose gets exposed. Except 'go back' protest in a couple places, 99 percent of the people are convinced about the usefulness and justifiability of this act," Ravikumar said.
