Mangalore, Sep 26: “Blood donation plays a key role in creating a healthy society. The blood of an individual does not have the colour of any religion, caste, or creed. It signifies that all human beings are united by a common bond. Voluntary blood donation gives new life to an accident victim and also facilitates communal harmony in the society”, opined NSS nodal officer Sainath Mallige Mada.
Sainath was speaking at the inaugural of the blood donation and blood grouping camp which was held at Narayan Guru College here on Thursday September 24. The camp was jointly organized by the NSS unit of Narayan Guru College and All India Billavar Union–Kudroli, which was held as part of Founder’s Day celebrations.
The programme was inaugurated by garlanding the portrait of late Damodar R Suvarna, the founder of Narayan Guru Group of Education Institutions.
Fr Muller Medical College professor Roshan M, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that Damodar Suvarna has set an example to society in doing one’s mite by educating the masses.
Navinchandra D Suvarna, correspondent of Narayan Guru Group of Education Institutions and president of All India Billavar Union, Kudroli, presided over the programme.
Keshav Bangera proposed the vote of thanks. Lecturer Shivaprakash compered the programme.
