Udupi, Jan 7: Malpe beach festival that was postponed will be held on February 1 and 2. A meeting in this connection was presided over by deputy commissioner G Jagadeesh at his office on Monday. “The department of tourism, department of Kannada and culture, Malpe development committee, Nirmithi center, coastal tourism association, department of animal husbandry and local groups and associations will hold the festival,” said the deputy commissioner.

“Various sports competitions, cultural programmes, Janapada fare, dog exhibitions, kite flying, sand sculptures, drawings competition, Kabaddi tournament in flood lights, musical programme from Kannada Kogile fame artistes of Colors Kannada Television channel, various dances by dance Karnataka dance artistes, film show by international artistes and dance recitals by expert dancers from Kerala will be held.”

 

Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi district panchayat chief executive Preethi Geylot, officials from different departments and heads of tourism department were present.
