Sullia, Jan 6: “When every village is developed the country will be developed. These changes should happen from the ground level,” said DC of Dakshina Kannada district Sindhu B Rupesh.
DC Sindhu was speaking after inaugurating the village stay programme that is organized under the leadership of District working journalists’ association with the active participation of Dakshina Kannada district administration, police department, zilla panchayat, Sullia taluk panchayat and Madappady gram panchayat.
District-in-charge minister of Dakshina Kannada district Kota Srinivas Poojary said that he will discuss with local MLA with regards to giving a special package to the development of Madappady village development.
The minister was answering the queries of public in the discussion and valedictory programme of the journalists’ village stay. The minister said that a meeting will be called before January 15 at district level to discuss the Kole disease of areca nut crop, destruction of crops by wild animals, giving licence to buy rifles and other issues related to agriculturists.
Speaking on the occasion, Sullia MLA Angara said that there is 64 km of rural roads in the Madappady village which will be developed. He instructed the gram panchayat officers to submit a report in this regard.
Chaniya Kaltadka, taluk panchayat president, Asha Timmappa, zilla panchayat member, Udaya Koppadka, taluk panchayat member, Srinivas Indaje, president of district working journalists’ association and Puttur DySP Dinakar Shetty were present. The programme was compered by journalist B N Pushparaj. District executive member Lokesh Perlampady rendered the vote of thanks.
Will appeal to CM for release of grant for development of Madappady road – MLA U T Khader
MLA U T Khader said that he will put in his best efforts, along with the Sullia MLA S Angara to get the grant released for the development of Madappady road, which is the main demand of the villagers.
Khader paid a visit to the village stay programme of district working journalists’ association at Madappady. Khader further said, “I have seen the pathetic condition of Madappady road myself. In my constituency, even in the most remote places such a bad road does not exist. I have got grants released from minister K S Eshwarappa for my constituency. I will speak with the CM and minister Eshwarappa for getting grant to Madappady also.”
“The villagers should not think that some miracle will happen within one day of village stay. At the same time, the concerned officials should see that the demands of the public is met,” added Khader.
