Udupi, Sep 23: Selfless service is dear to God. If everyone contributes one tenth of his or her earnings for good deeds, one will be entitled to his grace, said Vishwapriyateertha Swamiji of Admar Mutt.
Vishwapriyateertha Swami was speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of dining hall, which will be built at a cost of Rs 35 lac, in memory of the late renowned chef Biliyar Govind Bhat by his children and grand children, at Sri Durgadevi temple, Kunjarugiri, near here on Tuesday September 22.
The honesty in executing temple works is essential, as the God would be pleased by the honesty of common folks by bestowing abundant grace. The worship of Goddess Durga in the present era will bring about peace and harmony in the society, he observed.
Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon presided. Speaking on the occasion, Mendon said that the state administration has identified the tourism potential of Kunjarugiri temple and the works are underway to develop the region. Meanwhile, he assured to strive honestly to secure more financial assistance to develop the region.
Anegudde Sri Siddi Vinayaka temple managing trustee Suryanarayan Upadhyaya Kumbashi and former state minister Vasant V Salian were the chief guests. Temple priest Puttur Srinivas Tantri was also present.
