Udupi, Jan 3: A ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ worth Rs 2 lac, made of cement, was unveiled by Paryaya Palimaru Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji at Rajangana in Sri Krishna Math here on Thursday January 2.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “’Sudarshan Chakra’ was needed to increase the beauty of Sri Krishna Math. There is a faith that Goddess Durga protects all. This Chakra is held in the hands of God. Let devotees get protected by this Chakra.”
Dr B Vijaya Ballal, trustee of Sri Janardhan and Mahakali temple Ambalpady, said, “I have completed this Chakra according to the wishes of Vidyadheesha Swamiji. It was made possible with the grace of God and blessings of Swamiji.”
Twelve feet in height, costing Rs 2 lac, the ‘Sadarshan Chakra’ was designed under the guidance of Dr Vijay Ballal, and built in 25 days.
Seetharam Kekuda, Stapathi Shri Gundu Rao and team, designed it.
Fourteen years ago, the same Palimaru Swamiji encouraged to construct a huge Shankha (conch) in Rajangana, flower garden, Nakshathravana and Rashivana around Sri Krishna Math.
Palimaru Swamiji honoured the designers.
