Udupi, Jan 2: “BJP has lost elections in five states after forming the government at the centre in 2018. It is a clear indication of the beginning of anti BJP wave throughout the country. Therefore, party leaders and activists should set aside their differences if any and work for Congress victory in the upcoming panchayat elections,” said district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavooru. He was speaking in the meeting of the presidents of different district Congress units held at Congress Bhavan here.
Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that local matters are important in panchayat elections. “Therefore, candidates should be elected after identifying booth level leadership. Gram panchayat limits should be marked again. District committee should appoint in charge for gram panchayat limits and strengthen the unity. Activists should strive to make pro people schemes taken up during Congress party rule in the centre and the state reach the people,” he said.
