Panaji, Jan 2: Villagers from five talukas in Goa will soon get entrepreneurship training. The start-up village entrepreneurship programme (SVEP)in Goa, will take up skill-building activities in Pernem, Quepem Canacona, Bardez and Bicholim.
“Most of these villagers are farmers who engage in the cultivation of crops only during the peak agriculture months. During the other months, they engage in small plantation activities. These activities will be converted into a sustainable enterprise, for which we provide them with handholding support,” said Raaj Naik, project manager at the Agnel Institute.
Naik stated that the training will help in the creation of rural entrepreneurs by developing a sustainable model for village entrepreneurship promotion through tools for training and capacity-building in Goa in four years.
According to reports, the scheme may launch in April.
